Quintura, the visual search engine, has just launched a couple of new features, starting with a Hot News search cloud. This gives you quick access to items that are being searched the most on the web. You may appreciate Quintura’s other new feature–embeddable search cloud. You can embed a search cloud for any set of results you’d like, such as your own name, topics covered on your blog, etc.
Flauntr actually offers three web-application solutions for photo editing: PhotoStylr, PhotoEditr, and PhotoProfilr. Each one is different in it’s approach to photo editing, and all three are free to use under one single site login.
PhotoEditr is the vanilla of the three, offering the user a variety of simple picture fixes such as red eye or blur and focus correction. PhotoStylr adds to the mix special effects, light effects, tone adjustments.. essentially the types of fixes you see in your standard photo library editor like Picasa. PhotoProfilr is the social component, allowing you to take a picture you’ve edited and load it to any social network, resized and compatible.

WiseMapping is an online mind-mapping software that enables you to create mind maps and share them with your team. It uses SVG/VML instead of Flash or AJAX so you can create online mind-maps that are viewable in more browsers. You can invite other students to edit the map and, when it's finished, you can export it in multiple formats or publish it online.

If you're looking for a one-stop shop, file conversion service, then take a look at YouconvertIt. Here is a good tool to aid in WWW exploration for visual thnikers who don’t like paging through lists of search results? You enter a URL, it crunches a bit, and returns a node map with lines to sites that are “similar”. If you double click any of the nodes, they expand for the network around that node. You can use the sliders to zoom or change the spacing of the graphic, and drag around nodes to re-arrange them. And there are some graphic tools for coloring, annotating, etc.
Here you can create your own “pods” of video collections, and with their one click browser tools, you can create collections of web video from 1000s of different video sites, YouTube, Google, MySpace, just about anywhere that embeds flash video. You can do some customization of your “pod”, have categories, tags, comments– and it provides a cut and paste method to embed a “widget” in your blog.
This is a nice interactive tool for developing timelines. You can create and share your timelines as well as explore those already available. Check out the "History of Video Games" timeline as an example of the potential of this tool.
StreamYard enables you to save the videos you see on the web, for example on YouTube. Simply enter the URL, download and then playback. Upload to a host service and embed in your wiki/blog.
A tag is simply a label or keyword that describes your file for making it easer to find. With tag2find you do not need to have inflexible folder structures anymore: tagging frees your information. You will find everything (documents, movies, images, music, etc.) on your desktop by simply using tags. It does not matter where your files are stored on your disk, you will find them anyway.
